Fifty Identical Karts

One kart is allocated to each team and remains with that team throughout all three race heats. Teams may select an available livery colour and coordinate it with the Sparco team clothing presented on the dedicated apparel page, creating a consistent visual identity for both the kart and the team.

Timetable

Race weekend

Wednesday 20 October

Team arrivals and accreditation for teams and drivers.

Thursday 21 October

Sporting checks, driver weigh-in and kart allocation. Free Practice from 15:00 to 18:00.

Thursday 21 October — evening

Inaugural dinner with red carpet.

Friday 22 October — morning

Sporting checks, driver weigh-in and Team Managers’ Briefing, followed by Free Practice and Qualifying Sessions to determine the starting grid.

Friday 22 October

Race start at 14:00.

Saturday 23 October

Race finish at 14:00 and awards ceremony. Detailed timing to be announced.

The race lasts exactly 24 hours, from 14:00 on Friday to 14:00 on Saturday, and is divided into three eight-hour heats. At the end of the eighth and sixteenth hours, at 22:00 on Friday and 06:00 on Saturday, the chequered flag is shown: the karts are lined up on the grid according to the standings at that moment and the next heat restarts. The time needed for each restart, about twenty minutes, is part of the 24 hours. For the final sporting classification, each team’s best two heat results count and its weakest result is discarded. Every completed lap across all three heats, including the discarded one, counts towards the team’s charitable donation.

The sun sets at Hergla at 17:36 on 22 October and rises at 06:32 on the 23rd: twelve hours and fifty-six minutes of the twenty-four are run in the dark.
